July 21 – 24
Four 4-hour sessions
Ages: Adult (16+)
Level: Beginning/Intermediate/Advanced
Cost: $150–$200
This workshop explores three practical components of directing for the stage. We will begin with text analysis from the viewpoint of a director, including how to prepare a script for rehearsals and ways to get thoughts, sketches, and ideas out of your head and onto paper. Next, we will explore how those ideas get translated and communicated to actors in the rehearsal room through scene work and class feedback. Lastly, we will examine how to craft the connection between audience and performer.
