Oct. 30th, and Nov 6th, 13th and 20th | 12:00PM – 2:00PM

This Workshop will examine how directors approach, develop and hone the craft. This will be an active – and interactive class focusing on each aspect of the directors work. From how and why we chose the play, the approach to the production, and the process of making hundreds of decisions rooted in script analysis and vision.

The work of a director is to lead a team towards a common vision while collaborating with the design team. We will talk about collaborating with design, sound and technical staff. Go through the challenges of casting, pre-production work, rehearsals, and how to plan for tech week. We will examine how we create the stage picture, staging, focus, all the aspects of our realizing – along with our cast and staff – what we want to present to our audience.
