Bad Medicine contains strong language and depicts violence against Indigenous
people, including Indigenous women. The play also portrays the appropriation of
Indigenous cultural and spiritual practices, and has snake imagery throughout.
We offer this note so audience members can prepare accordingly, not to discourage
attendance. These elements are central to the play’s dramaturgy, which sheds light
on how settler colonialism dehumanizes and exploits Indigenous peoples, and are
handled with intention.

This production contains choreographed sequences of sexual and intimate situations and physical violence, including slaps and sequences involving violence with a knife. All intimacy and combat were staged by a qualified industry professional. This production also contains stage blood, references to forced pregnancy and reproductive coercion, and language that may be considered obscene or derogatory. Some scenes may contain drastic changes of light and sound.
