Fun Home is a musical adapted by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori from Alison Bechdel’s 2006 graphic memoir of the same name. A refreshingly honest, wholly original story about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes, the original Broadway production of Fun Home opened in April 2015. It was nominated for twelve 2015 Tony Awards, winning five, including Best Musical. It is the first Broadway musical with a lesbian protagonist.

When graphic novelist Alison’s father dies unexpectedly, she dives deep to tell the story of the one-of-a-kind man who defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives the uniqueness of a childhood spent playing at the family’s Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father’s hidden desires.
