Allison Goetzman (she/they) hails from Atlanta, Georgia and launched her theatre career by stage managing her first shows in high school, The Mousetrap and My Fair Lady. With an immediate, newfound direction for her future, she went on to pursue double majors in Dramatic Arts and French from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. During college, she completed her first stage management internship at Berkshire Theatre Festival in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, leading to three consecutive summers on their stage management team and another internship at CenterStage in Baltimore, Maryland after graduation.

From there, Allison relocated to Chicago, where she cemented herself as a recurring stage manager on the creative teams for multiple Jeff Award-nominated shows at Mary Arrchie Theatre Company, Oracle Productions, and Trap Door Theatre. Most notably, Oracle’s The Mother (directed by Max Truax) won 5 of its 7 nominations, including Best Production – Play, Best Ensemble, Best Adaptation, Best Actress in a Lead Role, and Best Original Music. Trap Door afforded her the opportunity to stage manage a five-week, six-stop international tour of The Just by Albert Camus (directed by Valèry Warnotte) in France.

Following a summer season at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center that kicked off her evolution into production management, she moved to Santa Fe and found stability as Production Manager at the Lensic Performing Arts Center. In 2016, she was featured in American Theatre Magazine’s “10 Theatre Workers You Should Know.” She continued to stage manage with Adobe Rose Theatre, Just Say It Theatre, and Ironweed Productions, until the pandemic shutdown.  After an elongated career break, Allison made her return to theatre as the Safety Coordinator at the Santa Fe Opera in 2023 and 2024 and began stage managing again at the Playhouse in 2024 with Or,What the Constitution Means to Me, and Cebollas.

Throughout her career, she has intentionally sought out opportunities to develop creative problem solving with a team and to learn together. “It is imperative to me to experience the world collectively, as opposed to individually.” Allison is both excited and grateful for the chance to collaborate and grow with the Playhouse teams, board, and community in this role.
