Please note: The location for Sunday’s auditions are up a flight of stairs and there is no elevator. If you wish to audition and cannot or choose not to use the stairs, please reach out to us and we will set another time when we can see you at an accessible space.

How to Audition and Sign Up (Read all the information)
To secure your audition slot, please send a headshot (or portrait), and resume if you have one, to submissions@santafeplayhouse.org, then sign up for a spot by CLICKING HERE. Please note that there are two tabs, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. 

Please arrive a few minutes early and be sure that you can attend ONE of the THREE dance calls. 

Times are listed on the sign-up sheet. 

If you want to audition but can’t make it on the audition date, you’re welcome to provide a video with a monologue and a song. We accept video for the initial audition; callbacks must be in person. Note that video will be recorded during in-person auditions for internal use for casting.

Please prepare a song to perform, 30 seconds to one minute of a song of your choice that best features your voice. Please also prepare a monologue of your choice. 

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. 

Please bring proof of COVID vaccination or negative test. We ask that you remain masked when not performing your audition and when in close proximity to others.

About A Year With Frog & Toad

Synopsis: Based on Arnold Lobel’s beloved children’s books, A Year with Frog & Toad is a whimsical musical that tells the story of two best friends: cheerful Frog and curmudgeonly Toad. The musical follows Frog and Toad through four colorful seasons, from hibernation to hibernation. Nominated for several Tony awards in 2003. This is a show for the whole family β€” specifically for young audiences. There will be singing and dancing.  

CHARACTERS

All are up for your personal interpretation; bring your full selves and your imagination. The Santa Fe Playhouse encourages performers of all ethnicities and gender identities, as well as performers with disabilities, to audition.

Frog: Fred Astaire (high center of gravity) 

Toad: Gene Kelly (low center of gravity) 

Bird, Turtle, Squirrel, Mother Frog, Mole: Up for interpretation

Bird,  Squirrel, Young Frog, Mole: Up for interpretation

Bird, Snail, Lizard, Father Frog, Mole: Up for interpretation

Mouse: Vera Ellen 
Snail:  Mix between Danny Kaye and Bob Hope
